NO ISSUES

The manager of Barcelona, Gerardo Martino, has said that Lionel Messi doesn’t have any physical issues and he is in good shape at the moment.

In the recently played El Clasico, Messi looked off colour. He was not in any kind of rhythm and after his performance in that match; people has been speculating that the Argentinean superstar must have some kind of physical problem, but, Martino has denied those speculations.

Talking to the reporters yesterday, the Barca boss said, “The fact that Messi didn’t score in the match against Madrid is not bothering me at all because what he brings to the side is extremely vital.”

“I don’t know who is spreading these reports about Messi having physical problems. There is nothing like that. He is in fine shape.”

“We are trying to utilize him in different positions this season and I have already had a chat with him regarding that. We believe that he can do a good job playing slightly deeper as well. We just want to get the best out of him.”

Messi has recently comeback after spending a few weeks on the sidelines due to his thigh problem. He has only played 3 games for Barcelona since his return.

Meanwhile, When Martino was asked about both teams being unhappy with some of the decisions of the referee in the El Clasico, he said, “Yes, there were a few decisions which were a bit controversial, but, that’s part of the game. I think we dominated in the first 45 minutes and then, in the earlier parts of the second half, Madrid did the same.”

“When you win a Clasico, you can begin to feel a bit relaxed, but, we need to make sure that we don’t lose the rhythm.”
