New Barcelona signing Neymar has said that he cannot wait to play alongside Lionel Messi, who he regards as the best player in the world. Neymar was recently signed a five-year contract by Barcelona after they agreed a deal with Santos, who tried their level best to keep the 21-year-old.
Neymar has been linked with a move to Europe for a long time, but he has finally sealed his much anticipated move. Neymar is known for playing on the left and cutting in on his stronger right foot. This style of play is exactly opposite to Lionel Messi, who is left footed.
The 21-year-old striker has said that he cannot wait to his partnership with Messi blossom on the pitch. Neymar has consistently stated that he will be staying with Santos until the 2014 World Cup, but the club took the decision to send him this summer itself because he had only one year left on his contract. It is understood that Real Madrid were in the race to sign him until the last moment. Neymar has said that he took a long time before choosing the Spanish club ahead of potential suitors, which included the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea.
Neymar is thought to have cost Barcelona around £25 million.
"This is a dream come true. To play with Messi and other amazing footballers at Barcelona has made me very eager to arrive there. It was a tough decision but I decided together with my family.
