Messi Returns to Barcelona Training Sessions

Lionel Messi offered a much-needed boost to Ernesto Valverde after he returned to the pre-season training sessions for Barcelona. The club will be facing a big clash against Borussia Dortmund. He is an important player on the attack side of Barcelona. After the calf injury, Messi has not yet featured for Barcelona this season. His return to the training session of the club can be considered as a positive sign.

Many from the Barcelona club had expected that he would return much earlier. But he took time to recover from the complications that he got from the injury. The scar from his injury reopened and he had to watch from the Camp Nou stands Barcelona getting thrashed by Valencia during the La Liga match. The score at the end was 5-2. This was the reason for Messi to return to the training sessions a little later than the usual time. The pre-season training started in the month of August which he attended. It was needed for him to come for the sessions before the big match in the Champions League.


According to Alexander Hleb, Barcelona sold Ronaldinho and Deco as they tried to protect Lionel Messi, as the pair often came to training drunk.
